Will anyone ever win this damn thing. I think this is the 6 season and no one has made it through yet. Surely people are getting tired of watching more of the same right

Yeah that's the problem with it. The City Finals might as well be the Final because they're never gonna beat the National stages.

So if stages 3 is damn near impossible what the hell is stage 4

Stage 4 is a 6 story rope climb in 5 minutes or less.

The Japanese one had 4 seasons before someone actually won it, then another 13 before someone won it again.
It is supposed to be tough.

The Japanese one starting out was insanely easy compared to what the American one started doing when it started out. It's a crazy course.
A lot of the stuff on Stage 1 and Stage 2 in the American version is a lot harder than what would be stage 3 back when it first started in Japan. Hardest part was the jump off the pipe slider because it was a good distance from the finish platform.
The big killers of the Jump Hang and Warped Wall weren't added til season 5. You had people attempting stage 4 every time til season 5.
The biggest problem the American one has is they drag it out way too fricking long. Japanese one is just the finals, no city finals and they do it twice a year. Plus they invite a group of people just for fun and to see them fall hard. People who dress in stupid costumes, celebrities, comedians, and such. It's funny. The American one is all seriousness and has too much background shite. We don't need to know the background of every fricker on the show.

Sounds like "Wipeout"

Pretty much, I think that might have been part of the where they got the idea for Wipeout. However it was only like 10-15 people that were there for humor out of the 100 people to attempt it.
A portion of them would appear every year and it was a big underdog victory when one would finish Stage 1.

That's why I miss G4. It's was never too serious or had too much humor with silly people trying to get pass the first friggin' obstacle. The original Ninja Warrior/Sasuke had a way more entertainment value.
American one ain't bad by any stretch, but I don't enjoy it too much.

The women are kinda our comic relief now. They pump them up so much and they just fall on the spider walk cause they are too short.

As much as I would like to see this one ported to the USA, it would just become a bad Wipeout clone of some sort...

You basically need to be an elite rock climber to pass stage 3.
