I'm not terribly allergic to poison ivy, but I have been dealing with this shite for about a month. I can get one spot to go away, then it pops up in a small spot somewhere else. This process keeps repeating itself.

I've been treating with Calamine Lotion, Caladryl, and Benedryl lotion.

Any other suggestions besides cutting my arms and legs off?

don't scratch it

also, this won't help treating it at all, and may make it worse, but have you noticed how amazing running hot water over the affected spot feels?

If it is still coming up in new places a month after initial rashes, it is either not poison ivy or you are being re-exposed to it. The longest time it should take for new rash to show up from the time of exposure is 2 weeks, and even that is a really long time.

That being said, I have had success with Ivarest helping with the itching. It will just have to run it's course in my experience. Sucks though.

To stop the itching submerge the infected area in scalding hot water till you can't stand if anymore. Should numb the nerves for a few hours.

expensive but works well

Like others have said, next time I would go get a shot as soon as you start to show symptoms. No need to suffer, that shite is rough

Seriously, IT DOES NOT SPREAD(after the oil is washed off). Find where you keep getting poison ivy from. If you keep getting new spots then you keep coming in contact with it.

But yes a steroid shot and then a steroid pack are the best thing for it.

Damnit. I washed everything I have just in case. Now I guess my only option is to burn this fricking place down.

A month? Go to the freaking doctor and get a cortisone shot. I'm highly allergic to all three and have never dealt with it that long. Are you sure that's what it is?

Ivarest is not bad, but it didn't get rid of mine entirely last week.

I think bathing in a warm bath with a cup or two of bleach can really help.

I also bought this stuff called Technu Extreme which is supposed to be good, I haven't used it yet, saving it for next time.
