Dude has PR instincts, or is getting advised. He is getting a lot of attention for the pose, and he will get lots of increased awareness from it. So, he takes the hit of criticism in the short run, and then relies on his amazing talent to show everyone that he has the skills to be considered as he advances through the ranks in his stay as a Tiger. Imagine when he wins it in year 2 or 3 and he just sits back and says he was prognosticating his destiny.

It was too audacious coming from his background. As I've said before, I suspect sometime Patrick Peterson advised him to do it. He's getting negative press, but he's getting tons of it. Very out of character for him, but I think it was calculated.
