That's the difference in the game honestly. And it's something that I think is correctable.

Missed tackles, poor scheme, no pressure on Matt Ryan all led to the loss.

However, Matt Ryan played his best game of his career yesterday. He willed that team to a win....I doubt he plays that well when we play them again in our house.

But they will be legit contenders this year if they play offense like that from here on out.

No doubt.

As bad as he tore us up, we still win by 2 scores if we tackle well. That MT by Lewis in the redzone was pathetic

That's why I wasn't all giddy abou the whole "focus on turnovers" in the offseason. Our defense was top 5 last year without that focus. Seems like ever time they "focus on turnovers" that leads to missed tackles. Trying too hard to force the ball out or go for pick rather than hit a guy and wrap up

Might not necessarily be the case yesterday as I just saw some piss poor effort, but just an observiation I had.

the one where Javonte Freeman drug him 4 yards on 3rd down?

so many key plays like that where if we were on the other end of the stick we win the game.

we had the lead for what 50 minutes of the game?

That was pretty horrid. Plus the play where we let the backup RB scoot down the sideline for a 54 yard TD killed us, as well.

This D did not routinely give up the big play last year due to excellent tackling. I think we get it corrected in a big way this weekend.

The Falcons were running in our defense like they weren't worried about getting hit. That is not how the Saints played defense last year. I hope this is just a one time thing and they'll get their shite together against Cleveland next week.

There was probably a bit more pressure than it seemed, however Ryan was great at avoiding the rush yesterday. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other guy.

White and Jones are good WRs, but the DBs gave the receivers a ton of room to roam.

That had to be Vaccaro's worst game. I was expecting big things from the 3 safety look. Sadly we didn't get much.

fwiw that's usually the reason we win that game. we just happened to be on the other end yesterday

all things considered, gotta give ATL credit. they came to play and played a helluva game. got a stop or two when they needed it most and Matt Ryan went all 07 Tom Brady. I think it was more about what they did and less about what the Saints didn't do.

No chance Matt Ryan throws for 450+ yards and 3+ TD's again this season. Their defense will be the death of them.

I don't want to say much, because right now we're in the same boat.

It's the first game so I'm hoping our players believed the hype that they owned Atlanta and the falcons would just roll over for us.

If they show marked improve by against Cleveland I'm not going to worry. But if they look sloppy against the Browns, it's gonna be a frustrating season.

Good grief. This is horrible. 23 yesterday and only 77 in 2013. Wow.

That leads me to believe that we can and will correct this. Hopefully, this game was an aberration.

This. I worry that in our emphasis on forcing turnovers we lost the fundamentals that made us a great defense last year. shite we won't need to force turnovers if our Offense is as good as it looked Sunday and the D plays like it did last year.
