big plays killed us today. Our defense needs to attack, to many times i saw our DB's playing to far back. Last year we played with a recklessness and fearlessness, i didn't see that today. I also saw a lack of blitzes. yes we have 3 great d-linemen, but 3 on 5 or 6 isn't going to work. Just because Galette and Cam, didn't have an impact in the stat sheet doesnt mean they didn't make an impact in the game.

Im confident in this team and still think we can be great, last year Robb put the guys in spots where they could excel, today i don't think he did that.

time to move on to cleveland boys, this loss sucks but shite happens Atlanta has a damn good set of skill players that we respected to much.

He treated Matt Ryan like he had a Jamarcus arm.

It's like he wanted to give up the check downs.

I don't know. I saw prob getting twisted around and doing 360 spin moves while trying to cover a 5 yard slant.

This. Last year he created a hybrid defense by playing the guys where they could play, and not asking them to do too much. Now he has a lot of options on personnel, coupled with the focus on creating turnovers, he has the players in uncomfortable/unfamiliar positions not focusing on fundamental defensive football (tackling, playing in space, and play identification). What I saw defensively can be fixed, and we have the players to get the job done. Ryan just has to put this puzzle together. Be patient, much of the secondary has not had many opportunities to form a singular identity - this will come with time, and with a lot of bumps along the way. Another thing, you can't get much worse than this on the defensive side of the ball.

That's what i saw. He was so worried about the big play he was willing to leave the short routes open by playing the safeties deep. Only reason i can think of is that he felt our corners would be consistently beat down the field.

Matt Ryan balled out in that game. It hurts me to say it. He really did make several throws that I've seen him miss regularly in past seasons.

Defensively it was an extremely poor game. Players often weren't in position to make plays, and when they were, they didn't make them. We missed 23 tackles, and I don't know for sure, but I'm willing to bet that's more than our defense missed the entire 2013 season. Safety play was poor and besides the forced fumble Jairus recorded, I would say that was probably the worst defensive backfield showing I've seen from the Saints since the 2012 season opener against, then rookie, RG3.

P-Rob can't cover a basketball with a blanket and our d-line was bullied which is completely out of character. Hell, the whole defense was out of character. Byrd and Vaccaro took Malcom Jenkins angles all games. Anytime a 4th string running back houses a 4 yard out-route, you have to start to worry.

I'm confident that we'll get better, but I'm not sure how we could be any worse. We need to show up big on the road next week and at home the week after against two below-average QB's/Offenses. I'm not sure how many of you have actually played the game, but it's half mental. The defense needs to shake this loss off and get back to the mindset that made them a top-5 Defense last year. We know the potential is there... Just needs to be brought out again.

What game were you watching? Our cover 2 was playing 25 yards off the LOS pretty much all day. Awful scheme that hopefully we've seen the last of.

Honest played the best game of his career. No doubt about it. He was routinely forced out of the pocket all day and he was nailing receivers on the run and coming through in every clutch play they needed him.

If we play the exact same way we just played them in Cleveland against a less experienced less talented QB. They won't score more than 17
