I know there are European teams but what keeps the sport in the US primarily?

Pace of game....theirs only action for about 5-10 seconds at a time where as soccer there is no stoppage...also commercials

I think it's viewed as boring. Lots of standing around/setting up compared to actual game play.

Retarded amount of commercials.

Most overseas countries are poor, don't matter, and hate/are jealous of America.

A lot of my European and Latin American friends always cite there being way too many rules which makes it really difficult to understand.

LOL. I'd love to see how the 140-175 lb rugby tards would do without "armor" against guys like JJ Watt and Patrick Willis.

Lol they weigh more than that. Just like football there are different positions with different body types.

Takes a lot of investment in equipment and the rules are completely convoluted. Seriously, I think Australian Rules Football has simpler rules than American Football.

The average weight of professional rugby players is approximately 210 lbs. You clearly don't know too much about it.

I think this is a big part of it at least on a worldwide level. All you need for soccer is a ball and space to play. Football gets pricy pretty quickly.

Heard that one before. It's because players used to fricking die and get paralyzed all the time. Check the early history of football. These pussies are playing one of the most violent destructive games on earth

It kind of is boring. I love it, but I like soccer more because there are limited substitutions, no time outs and no commercials. The players have more influence on the outcome in soccer than football.

Rugby players are also playing offense and defense. Takes a lot of endurance and stanima for that.

The reason soccer has been growing on me a lot. I still love football, but the constant commercials, penalties, and all of the advantages given to the offenses are just making it less enjoyable.

eta: After rereading my post I basically just reworded your post
