The whole game is rigged at the state and national level. If you don't have large sums of money you won't be running much less getting elected. That narrows the pool of candidates down to narcissistic, sociopathic wealthy power brokers who by and large are more interested in helping themselves and their wealthy, powerful cronies. It is the system we have now. And the reason this country has gone down the shitter by and large. The game is controlled by corporate money.

And its so much about name recognition to the average (dumb) voters. Thats why its so hard to get these crooks out and get decent people in.

There's a reason the founders did not believe in universal suffrage.

A house in Denham with an Ole Miss flag has an "Edwards for Congress" yard sign.

The fact that Edwards is being considered is proof that this state has no hope. It furthers my want to get out of here. I can't take how stupid the citizens of this state are.

It is inconceivable.

You're right.

We should elect the guy that just got out of jail for being a crooked politician.

I'm not afraid of the man. I'm afraid of a populous that would elect a man like that.

If this state sinks that low, they should "cleanse" this state of all it's inhabitants.

I never understood the blind allegiance or love from the citizens that this guy garnered. Except in that Duke race.

It's not that....it's the fact that this person should not even be considered to be a legitimate option.
I am sad because I know you don't understand why that is scary and because I'm about 90% sure you vote.

I was helping out at my old high school back in July when teachers were first reporting and one of my old teachers was wearing an Edwards shirt. I was shocked as he's conservative. He never heard the end of it from me that day.

This election is going to be a very good litmus test to see how stupid we are to let Edwards think he's ok running for an elected position after he stole an incredible future from Louisiana.

This race will be a true litmus yes, but it will also be a litmus test of how many absolutely delusional democrats there are in the LA06. If a Republican was trying to pull a stunt like this, you can only imagine the hate that would spewing from the Dems and stupid republican EWE sympathizers.

Louisiana has always been schizophrenic with its politics compared to the rest of the south and it's my firm belief that we still have a shite ton of my daddy and granddaddy were democrats and voted for the so they must be alright retards running around in this state. You, Skinny Domino would be one of those. This state didn't start going solidly red and republican until the past 15 years or so.

EWE screwed us over and Louisiana could've been so fricking great and up there with Texas and California with Baton Rouge and New Orleans resembling something like Dallas and Fort Worth and San Fransisco and Oakland in its heyday. He could've used his political muscle to plan ahead for the future with infrastructure and got construction started on a loop for BR. It's clear now that it's going to take a strong and powerful governor to make any headway on a BR loop. He stole a great future from Louisiana. frick Edwin, and frick anyone that would even consider voting for that piece of shite.

Are we playing find the name that doesn't belong? Vitter may have his occasional head scratches, but his voting record is pretty solid.

Edit: and how in the world does Vitter make your list before Landrieu?
