Anybody else want to see the Stros make a run at him? Growing up I always thought I would see him managing the team one day

Late start tonight. Samardzija is on the mound for the A's tonight. Still can't believe he has only 6 wins with that ERA

Let's get Dierker back in the dugout!

His brain is much better now.

We missed out on Ausmus by a year. Honestly he'd be a fool to leave the Tigers at this point. The only way I could see him leaving is if the Padres job opened up since he lives in San Diego.

Not gonna happen.

But if it *does* happen -- can we send Doug Brocail to Detroit this time?

Didn't Dierk regularly butt heads with the FO when he was manager? I can't imagine thats what they'll be going after this time.

I'm pretty sure Dierker coming back was a joke

I loved the guy- met him a bunch of times in Houston.

Best Astros manager ever.

I miss when the Astros used to do the preseason "caravan" to New Orleans- I went a bunch of times to meet the guys- I don't think theyve been here since the early 2000's.

It was.

But I always hoped he would.

They came to Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Lake Charles earlier this year. Brought the big names with them too..

Josh Fields, Josh Zeid, Brett Wallace, James Mouton, Steve Sparks

James Mouton. Its like the asked...who is they most obscure player we can send out? Well James Mouton retired in 2001 and he played 4 of his 8 MLB seasons with us. Call him up!

I used to love going to the fanfests at the Dome when he was there.

I was at the game when he had his stroke. One of the scariest and eeriest feelings watching 30,000+ file out of the stadium in silence

Thoughts on Mike Maddux?

Maddux, who previously interviewed for managerial jobs with the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox, acknowledged Thursday that he would be “very interested” in talking to the Astros about their position.

Looks like Tim Bogar will get his shot with the rangers.

Please give luhnow the wisdom to not pursue Ron Washington.
