Why does Richard Sherman get so much hype?

I see Twitter blowing up about how the Shermantor didn't get a single ball thrown his way. DOMINANCE!

I'll always give way more props to DBs who actually shadow.

Sherman stayed on his side and covered Jarrett Boykin the entire night. Yeah, Jarrett Boykin.

No shite. Of course Rodgers is going to throw to his two best players who aren't covered by Sherman

Meanwhile, Nelson puts up 9 for 83 and Cobb gets 6 for 58 with a touchdown.

He's great at guarding his section, but I agree with the point of your post

He's good but I agree he is overrated.

It isn't a complicated formula: figure out what side Sherman is going to be on all night and keep your best receiver on the other side.

He might be the best corner in the backfield but that doesn't make him the best in the NFL.

Why do you think Rodgers tried to pick on Maxwell?

Yeah, sorry. I fail to mention he is a talented DB. I just don't get why he is considered elite when he just covers his side.

It's obvious teams aren't going to throw his way if they have a better matchup.

Yeah Sherman didn't do shite all game. GB clearly put Boykin over there with no intention of throwing to him.

Clearly GB still got smoked...so I guess it doesn't matter anyway...but I agree with what you're saying.

All the teams are going to start doing that now after realizing Sherman is all talk and doesn't man up like a true cover corner

Because he was the one guarding either Nelson or Cobb most of the night

Seahawks won big, so it's a moot point, but logic says, you put your "best" DB on Nelson and let Boykin beat you.

Nelson beat Maxwell with ease tonight. That INT was due to Maxwell being in the right place off the tip.

If Green Bay wants to play 10 vs. 10, that's a win for Seattle. I think it's a bad idea to throw away a receiver. Putting your best WR against the best corner opens up stuff for the rest of the team, and sometimes your WR wins.

the weird thing about sherman is that the way he acts and talks and shite make you believe he would be the exact type of dude to think that he has to cover the best receiver to be the best and shite. but he's actually the exact opposite of that? it's weird.

So Green Bay losing Boykin is a loss compared to Sherman covering a team's #3 receiver?

Nelson is a lot more likely to kill a team than Boykin, so why throw Nelson over to Sherman's side if he's too much of a pussy to always cover the best receiver?

It appears Green Bay's strategy of going 10 vs 10 was unsuccessful

Allowing zero catches is a huge win for a CB, even if it is against Earl Boykins for most of the game (he went against Nelson for at least one play).

It's the defensive scheme, not Sherman's choice like people imply for some reason. Why in the world would Seattle change anything?

Then Sherman needs to shut up about his claims on being the best corner because he obviously isn't if he's being hid in a scheme

I'm not asking him to shadow.

I just don't understand why he literally won't leave his side. Ever...There's not many DBs that shadow 24/7 but at least most of the elite ones move around some

To go along with being the least targeted CB in the league. It's nice to only have to worry about 2/3 of the field. People calling him overrated just hate him.
