I remember people talking on here about him having some serious potential. Has he got lost in the depth or has he been making any news?? Just wondering. I remember watching his film and thinking he looked pretty strong and fast. Seems like he would have had a chance compete for playing time with such a young d line. Dont beat me up guys, just wondering.

Good question. Every year there seems to be a couple who just don't develop after they get here. Justin Maclin, for example. Hopefully Patterson will be that five year program player who gives us good production in his fourth and fifth years.

Lots of guys ahead of him and Maclin. Hunter, Rasco, Clark, and Bower are all ahead of them physically and fundamentally. Maclin hasn't stayed healthy which has hindered his progression. MJ will get playing time this year.

He came in under 220 lbs last year I think...up to 230-ish now. He'll probably have to get a little stronger i'm sure.

He looked good (from photos) and is listed at 230-something. Not much smaller that Tashawn Bower and shorter so he should be ok physically. He's only a 2nd year player, right? No sense giving up on the dude and lumping him in with others that haven't reached their potential.
