Vanguard fund question

I have about 2500 left to max out my roth. I have 3000 in the wellington fund but I want to put 2500 in another fund. I am looking at the Vanguard Lifstrategy Fund or the VFIFX which is the targeted retirement at 2050. I am 26 years old. Any help would be appreciated as I am fairly new to this.

Why do you want to contribute to two funds at this time? What are your long term goals? If this is your first year of contributing I would put it all in one fund and attempt to grow the investment from investor shares to admiral shares.
Ultimately if you are looking at retiring between 55-65, you have ~30 years of investing ahead. Pick one fund to contribute to and forget about it until the time has arrived to begin funding for the next year's contributions. At that time, evaluate the market and your long term goals and make any adjustments to your Roth's funds and upcoming contributions as needed. Don't over complicate retirement, much less this early in the game.
