So you are generally speaking about a generalization with no empirical evidence that may or may not be true but you think it is.

I believe you

I mean you want me to start listing bands who's best material came early in their careers? As opposed to 20+ years into it?

Jeez, that would take a long, long time

I agree limp bizkit >> deftones as a whole. Only the cheezedick posters like galactic inquisitor think deftones are better.

I also go into a different Metal when I workout. My playlist is vastly different. Lamb of God Avatar All That Remains Old Slipknot Machine Head Janus Pantera Slayer Normal listening: Limp Bizkit Chevelle Tool A Perfect Circle Deftones Disturbed Mudvayne

I never got into pantera. Mudvayne is really tight. Never heard of chevelle. A perfect circle is super tight but most people consider that prog metal

Do ypu ever listen to coal chamber or papa roach?

I haven't listened to coal chamber in forever, papa roach isn't high on my list but I like a few of their songs.

There ain't no damn way you haven't heard of Chevelle if you listen to the others.

I think A Perfect Circle is better than Tool, but a lot of naysayers on this board tend to disagree with me

I dunno. By and Down is one of my favorite songs. Schism is probably my favorite song of all time. I don't think one is better than the other. It is just different styles.

I like Parabola, 10,000 Days, 46 and 2, Schism and The Pot more than I like The Noose, Weak and Powerless, Judith, and Imagine. However, I love all those songs. Just to a different degree.

I just feel like Maynard puts forth more effort in his side project than he does in Tool. He's just going through the motions with Tool, whereas APC, he is really going out there with it and pushing the envelope.

Hey, at least it's better than Korn

I really really really do not believe this. All of Tools songs are more thoughtful and deeper feeling. APC stuff is outstanding just not as deep.

It really says that he puts more effort into it that he doesn't even have stuff for Tool on Itunes or Google Play because he put so much effort into the albums and artwork.

Again, I'm not saying one is better than the other. Just that I prefer Tool songs over APC. However, I currently am listening to the "greatest hits" APC album on Play.

Korn just isn't really that talented...I feel like they only rose to popularity once Limp Bizkit brought nu metal mainstream. Riding off of Fred Durst's coattails so to speak. If it wasn't for Limp Bizkit, nu metal would've been a flash in the pan

Limp Bizkit was like music you could put on at a 90's frat party and you could still have girls there that wanted to give you a blowjob. Korn at that same party would scare all the girls off.

False

Korn basically invented nu metal in the early 90s. Bizkit and staind pioneered it tho

I completely agree with this though.

hence the flash in the pan comment. Korn may have invented it, but if the talent isn't there, the staying power decreases.

When bands like LB and Staind came and pioneered it, their talent pushed it and created this phenomenon that was 90'-00's nu metal wave.

I don't see Korn still headlining any big nu metal festivals, Bizkit is...

I'll take this time to regroup and prepare for your rebuttal

It's one thing to not like them, it's another to say they aren't talented. They are one of the founding bands of that genre. I don't like rage against the machine that much but you won't hear me bash them or say they are untalented.

I love me some korn, but as a fan, I can be critical. They just don't stack up in the talent department.

They are like the Kiss of nu metal. All costumes, theatrics, cult following, not very good.

I like them for what they did for the genre. But Jon Davis just makes noises on the stage. He doesn't rap like Durst or has the vocal range of Aaron Lewis

I can see that argument. I have no rebuttal against it right now.

i can't listen to a bunch of poseRz like koRn. j-davis' lyrics hint about strained parent/child relationships and being molested. phish actually does it.

when did you start listening to nu metal?
Did you ever make it to that POD show at the varsity last year? The lights weren't that great but they put on a helluva show.

Korn has headlined Mayhem Fest a few times. They also headlined Lollapalooza once. LB was broken up for a few years and only recently came back. They don't even tour America because everyone hates them. They are apparently still big in Europe though.
