He was a very good player but he's not a HOFer.

No, his all-purpose yards includes his kick return yards

He is/was an excellent player.

But HoF, I don't think so.

In the NFL sure. HOF in the NFL is more of a popularity contest anyway.

He's in the HOF of stupid excuses regarding his drink getting spiked with amphetamines at the kentucky derby.

If he has 2 or 3 more seasons of production like he had in NE, I'm not sure you could keep him out of the HoF.

I mean shite, hate on him all you want for what he does, but dude AVERAGED 112 receptions, 1243 yards (>11 YPC), and 6+ TDs a year. For six years. That's pretty great. And those numbers are dragged down a good bit by a 2010 outlier season.

And a system like Manning's is one he should continue to flourish in. So if he can put up similar numbers (or even worse-but-still-great numbers) for another few years, I think he could get in.

Randy Moss is probably the 2nd best receiver to the GOAT; Tony Gonzalez is regarded by many as the best overall TE in the history of the NFL; and Isaac Bruce racked up his productivity in an era when DBs were still allowed to actually touch a receiver.

While I do like his game, Wes Welker does not belong in a discussion with those three.

If he produced per his average for another 3 seasons, yes. But thats another 300+ receptions.

Uh, hell no.

Catching 5 yard passes your whole career from Brady does not a HOFer make.

And he didn't do jack for 4 years before being claimed by the Patriots and Brady.
