Am I the only one that doesn't have a problem with this? If an American citizen is idealistic enough in a cause to go and die overseas for that cause, then more power to them. There is a long history of this throughout history. It seems the glorified examples are OK because they were on the winning side (American Eagle Squadron, Flying Tigers).

Nope. The problem is that they have the ability to come back basically undetected. It's already happening in Europe. If people are naïve enough to think that these wackos are going to come back here and live like Ward Cleaver......just dayum.

I have a huge problem with this as long as they maintain an American passport.

As others have said, they are "idealistic" or fanatical enough to go over there and fight for their cause. This is fine with me. However, the issue is that if they are this eager to fight what will they do when they return?
This is different than the groups you referenced because ISIS views the USA as its enemy. If the guys in the American Eagle Squadron went to fly for Nazis they would have been viewed as traitors and treated as such.

Upvoted sir. People are afraid to call it what it is.

It becomes a problem when they leave to fight against the US.

when the enemy of the people they are fighting with is the US then why should they be allowed back?
I would make sure they don't come back but then again we have a leaky southern border

When they are fighting for someone who has vowed to "raise the flag of Allah in the White House" no, it is not "ok."
