"This weekend proved the SEC can't hang with the Big 12"

That is a quote from a well educated colleague who played college ball and is a huge UT fan.
His contention was that since Bama struggled with WVU, and FSU struggled with OSU it proved SEC teams would be beat out by the prevalent spread offenses of the Big 12 if "they had to play those tougher teams week in and week out".
I nearly fell out of my chair laughing when he said that.
Just thought y'all would appreciate a little humor.

Yes they are. But I have no crazy assertions that TCU nor the Big 12 as a whole are as good as the majority of the SEC this year. The Big 12 has no current or historical power claim over the SEC.

Dude, their fans still think that TAMU's success is a credit to their league.

Only logic that sorta adds up is that FSU is very similar to SEC teams and has followed the same formula of success. Still doesn't make sense though.
