Parroting articles I've read, Josh Gordon applied to play in the CFL knowing they would reject his request.

This is intended to show the judges "irreparable harm" which is a big factor in issuing an injunction. The basic premise being "you hurt someone's livelihood so badly with this, they should be allowed time to continue working until a fair trial is heard. Here is proof.".

That, plus the rumor mill rumbling about him going to sue already in motion, says that it's likely to happen, to me. He's already geared up to lay the foundation of his appeal for injunction.

Remember the players in Starcaps played quite a bit before they lost the case ultimately.
