Ordering contacts without a script?

Is there anyway to do this? My script just expired. My eyesight hasn't changed a bit since my last eye exam about a year ago. Don't really feel like going in for an exam just to get an up-to-date script.

They won't write another one without an exam. Which I think is stupid.

That's only useful for ordering replacement eyeballs, not contacts.

I just went through this bullshite ordering mine. My doctor wont talk to 1800contacts, so they cant ship them. Eventually i just gave in and had to go get an eye exam.

Because if your vision has actually changed they can be liable if something happens.

Its not that hard to understand.

You may think your vision has not changed, but you don't really know that without an eye exam.

I've been ordering contacts from 1800 contacts with the same script for the last 2 years. I just keep re-ordering and they keep sending them.

I did it not long ago. It was from a Canadian company. I'll bet you could order from any Canadian company online.

Some states allow eye exams to be used for 2-3 years. Louisiana law mandates 1 year.

It used to be 1 year in Louisiana, now it's 2. I would like to know who was behind getting it changed. Probably a group that would benefit from selling more eye exams!

Not really. Contact wearers are at risk of all kinds of things if they don't properly care for their eyes and their lenses. An annual or every other year checkup is necessary to make sure the patients are compliant with the proper way of taking care of their eyes.

Also, minor changes in vision do happen. Patients thinking they know best isn't always the case. It's part of routine healthcare.

There are a ton of "stupid" rules/regulations that make you do something in order to get what you want/need. Contacts are a luxury, and wearing them can sometimes cause eye problems that a person may not necessarily be aware of.
