Coach Miles coached a great game. He didn't call any trick plays or reverses the 1st half because he wanted to get his young players on offense a chance to get their feet wet and get a feel for the game. Playing in front of 79k people in a dome is a little different than playing in front of 4k of your friends and family in high school. Don't forget that this was Jennings first regular season start and it was Quinns first regular season game also. If, and I hate ifs but if Jennings was a little more relaxed on a few screen plays and Dixon holds on to the ball, LSU would have probably been leading at half. It's obvious that the fake punt was the turning point of the game and the rest is history. Remember Perriloux in the SEC Championship game and how close to the vest Coach Miles called the first half? Remember the 2nd half and how good Perriloux played? This dude knows what he is doing. Miles is arguably the best 4th quarter coach in college football and he doesn't panic. His teams follow his demeanor and that's why he is THE MAN. to coach Miles and all the LSU coaches. You called a great game!

Called a reverse with Harris and Quinn in the 1st half. But for the most part I agree

My bad. Forgot about that one. But that is kind of a low risk of a turnover. At worst Quinn could have fumbled or lost yards. I think he gained 2 right?

I'm still not sure I buy that a fake punt on 4th and 2 that led to a field goal was a turning point, but it certainly helped that it was converted.

Chavis ran a very vanilla defense in the first half and miles and CCC were very uncreative in the half on offense. In the 2nd half they opened up the book a little bit and let the boys make some plays. They only scratched the surface of what they can do. On offense we clearly have talent on the outside. The farther we get into the season we will hopefully see the coaching staff loosen the leash on the play calling and get more creative. I'm not that concerned with offense.

I'm worried about allowing so many rushing yards. 1st down is everything on defense. When they shut down Wisconsins run on first down it caused them to throw the ball to our very talented secondary. I trust the coaching staff to slowly get these young men ready each week. I think we can win a lot if games this year.

Also the one time we went play action and threw downfield in the first half we scored a TD. We get more creative play calling and put the safeties and lbers on their heels we can be special.
