Let us Discuss the Morality of #TheFappening

let me say stealing the pics and distributing it is fricked up, and i neither fapped to,nor posted/shared/saved any of the pics
however, i've lived almost half my life in a world where this is to be expected. even in a pre-facebook and texting world, when the world wasn't quite so connected, i still refused to take/send nude pics because i knew what would happen. this was 18 year old SFP, before the world at large had seen any of this sort of thing. today there is no excuse for ignorance. this shite has been going on since the late fricking 90s.
the only reason this had any novelty was due to the fact that these persons rely on their sexuality and looks for fame. they bred the monster that led to the market that created the demand for these pics, and they have directly benefited from that market.
now, this doesn't justify the stealing-leaking in any way, but when this is being characterized as legitimate sexual assault (see above tweet, or go look up lea dunham's idiotic response), you've destroyed any validity of your argument. just because something terrible happened doesn't mean that you have to turn it into the most terrible behavior within the spectrum of the violation. that does nothing except create a strawman AND degrade those who actually do suffer from an actual sexual assault
i get the feeling that these liberal-progressives take up this line of argument because they understand that having a discussion on the issue will be worthless, so they create the WORST.SCENARIO.EVER. to compare the behavior to (in this case, sexual assault). lena dunham, especially, came off as a complete dreaming idiot, wishing we lived in a world where she can become famous and rich for her idea of "talent" while nobody would ever look at the nudes of another without explicit permission. and since she can't live in this world, she will do whatever she has to (including degrade actual victims of horrible behaviors) to shame people into thinking as she thinks. shame is the tool of those who don't wish to allow humans to develop.
this is a direct quote from reddit that sums up a very good argument:
quote:
These people are all adults. They did something stupid (letting the cloud acquire the photos rather than storing them locally only). They should embrace it the way a proud few have. The ones going "yeah... Oops, well... Enjoy!!" Are getting RESPECT. The ones crying and denying are the ones getting plastered all over.
i've even see fricking idiots trying to turn this into a #MalePrivilege argument, because all the celebs released (except Verlander) were males. this is a classic example of liberal-progressives ignoring reality (female nudity is much more valuable than male nudity, especially with regard to celebrity) and pointing their fingers at the wrong issue (the right issue = celebrity)
here are some legit tweets on the situation:

I had someone post something on FB about how looking should be considered a sex crime.
Give me a break.
Give me a break.

i mean it is a legitimate violation. it's obviously not the same as as physical assault but i think for women this is just one step shy of that. whether or not they should use a different word is debatable.

Will this go on my record?

The sex crime comparison stuff is ridiculous, but I do pretty much feel similar to what happened to Erin Andrews and really have little desire to look up the stuff because of it.

Is it really surprising that Lena Dunham, who walks around naked all the time, is being hypocritical in this situation? No one wants to see her nude.

Liberal progressive rich woman.

a. nothing close to actual sexual assault
b. it's out there. making it a big deal is the only way that this continues to be a big deal (Streisand Effect plus the nature of celebrity). as i've told girls for (literally) more than 10 years, admit it, own it, learn from it, and move on. that's the only way to deal with this
the WORST thing that can happen is a histrionic, emotional, and irrational response that clouds the discussion...especially when in your quest to do this, you denegrate victims of VASTLY worse violations

but i think for women this is just one step shy of that.
that's ridiculous
i've known dozens of girls that this happened to. it is nothing like the effects of the girls i know who have been raped
NOTHING like it

It's not the same as the Erin Andrews situation. In that deal, some dude peeped on her live. In this situation, some dude peeped on the internet, after the fact. And my pee pee says that makes all the difference in the world.

it's not really hypocritical
she wants SO BADLY to live in a world where aesthetics do not matter (at least in terms of humans) that she embarrasses herself by showing her disgusting body over and over as a shock therapy treatment. this whole incident just plays right into her sheltered belief system.

They are all rich and stuck up so they can learn to deal with it. I feel bad for none of these celebs.
