A group of us from the OB have a trip for 10 scheduled for opening weekend and had someone drop due to work reasons. Cost for the hunting access and room is $888, and includes 3 days of wild pheasants for opening weekend and 4 nights lodging. Everyone going was pulled and received non resident waterfowl licences, including the person that has to cancel. We will check to see if the licence can be transferred. Waterfowl hunting is free on the property. This is an unguided hunt, but we are the only hunters on almost 3k acres. We have a number of pointing dogs and labs making the trip. Pheasant numbers are up 76% from last year.

We have 3 trucks going north from the Baton Rouge area, leaving on Wednesday October 15th. We will be pheasant hunting Sat, Sun and Monday and heading home on Tuesday.

Yes.

That is hunting access to the property for 3 days for pheasants and 4 nights lodging. We will be adding another day of lodging for an additional $50.

Let me check. I may be able to do this. I'll need to practice before my Idaho trip anyway.

I'd jump on it in a heartbeat if I didn't have a rut hunt in Kentucky booked and paid for in November.

This is pretty damn cool of you to offer this spot to an OB member, but I wouldn't expect anything different from the good ole boys here.

That said, maybe Smack can make it and pay for the entertainment portion of the excursion.

You think we are going to get someone to answer the phone at SDWF, in the evening, on labor day?

Now just imagine if his fatass was riding in your backseat on the way up there wanting to stop for a snack every 100 Miles.

I think this falls under the "better to ask for forgiveness than permission" category. I doubt they would give a good ol boy with a license a ticket for shooting pesky ducks.
