Gordon is their team. He is going to carry them throughout the year. Anderson couldn't risk losing Gordon in game 1, yet the Badger fans are calling for his head for not ruining his back's senior year.

was on that run where he reversed field in the backfield kinda broke free on the left side for a sec then DEBO smacked him out of nowhere. if you watch the replay you see Gordon limp after that.

So, we knocked 2 linemen and a RB out with our hits?

Convenient. Anderson sure benefits from this bit of news

He popped him hard on the left hip. It wasn't a good form tackle, but it was an awesome hit. Plus I don't think Gordon saw it coming.

Amazing because he continued to play the rest of the game...

Looking at his play by play half of his runs were for 3yds or less and actually lost ydg 3 times. If we would have stopped him at he line like we should have on that 63 yd run then he is looking at 80 yds on 15 carries (meh). Oh well...IF

BTW he had three more carries after his 63 yd run for a net of 1 yd. Maybe that is why he did not get more carries in second half???

I thought he got hurt, but he actually did some carries in the second half, and ben late in the game, but we put them in a position where they had to pass (3rd and longs and then with the lead)

So even when he returned, they weren't running the ball.

This comes out now that Wiscy fans are putting heat on the coaches. However, it was a different story Saturday night.

ESPN Blog from post-game

"Andersen said Gordon had "a scenario" at halftime that made it doubtful whether the star tailback could return to the game. But he did not elaborate, and Gordon did come back late in the game to provide pass protection. Asked after the game if he tweaked anything or was injured, Gordon responded, "Nah, I was good, man. All good.""

Mike Davis said something like that before the game against TAMU. He got hit good one time, and was out. Players always lie about stuff like this. I think they didn't want to run him too much the second half and risk losing him for the year.

Yea, right! But you forgot the part about how they played you AFTER halftime.

Lemme guess, you got caught cause you were hurt

The guy is a great player and he got hurt; great players often try to underplay injuries. See Dorsey after Ramsey took out his knee. (Am not comparing a clean hit to Ramsey)

The point is, why go from the coach not mentioning an injury and calling it a "scenario" and have the player say he wasn't injured, to all of a sudden saying the injury is what kept him out.

It sounds like a bunch of backtracking by their program, tbh. I understand if a player wants to down play an injury, but if you are Anderson, why not just say: Gordon got dinged up a bit in the first half and we wanted to be cautious with him.

Also, if they're being cautious and looking out for his well being, why is he running it up the middle on the first play from scrimmage in the second half? He's also not gimpy after the run and even celebrates by jumping and shoulder bumping a teammate.

Call me skeptical.....

I do think he was hurt. Otherwise he wouldn't have been caught on that long run to start the second half.

Lot of chatter. Wisconsin went up 24 -7. People are not considering they only ran 8 plays on next 3 series. Including two carries by Gordon, they managed 4 yards total on their 6 plays on 1st and 2nd down during that stretch. They got behind the chains and it was lights out.

They looked up and we’re losing with under 10 minutes to go. No need to point fingers at Whisky coaches. LSU made Gordon disappear by winning 1st and 2nd down after our offense showed some life.
Their next series ended in a pick and their last series started with Gordon losing 2 yards on 1st down and ended with 2 incompletions.

Wisconsin only ran 19 plays after they went up 24-7 and lost every 1st down thereafter to get behind the chains. Credit goes to LSU. People often complain about touches without considering the number of plays you actually were able to run.

Gordon started 4 of their 6 series in the 2nd half with a carry. After the first series of the half, he carried 3 times for 1 yard. LSU put that rabbit back in the hat, not the Whisky coaches.

whisky ran 38 plays in the first half but only 25 in the 2nd. LSU ran 38 plays in the 2nd. That and winning 1st down is what made Mr. Gordon disappear.

If he was hurt then why trot him out on pass protect and having him running even if it was only a few carries after that 63 yard run?
