You offer player A for Player X. They both have to not be claimed by another team then trade is finished?

If player B is not on the 40 man roster he does not have to be passed through waivers. Which was the case today.

Adam Dunn cleared waivers earlier this month, so the Angels didn't know he'd be heading to the A's a couple weeks later.

There is no way that can be right, he is free agent at the end of the season. I doubt his contract for the year was $20 million, much less for the one month left in the season.

Yeah, that's gotta be a typo or something. I've read the A's are paying half of 2.5 mill remaining on his contract.
