We are downtown and looking for a cool place to watch some football and eat some lunch before heading to nrg. Any ideas?

Woodrow's and Christians Tailgate Bar and Grill are the two I have heard most about. Many locations for both. Not sure which location most tiger fans will congregate at.

Flying Saucer is ok down there. Its on Main and capital. Main is the street that the light rail is on.

Little Woodrow's Midtown, walking distance from downtown or cab!

Big Woodrow's on Chimney Rock just north of 59 and just west of the 610 Loop. That is the big LSU bar here. It's also real close to 610 so you could get to NRG within minutes.

Just remembered that the LSU Houston Alumni Assoc. has made Christian's Tailgate on White Oak it's official meeting spot.

I haven't been to Big Woodrow's in a couple years but it was definitely the spot back then. Nowadays, I like to go to Little Woodrow's on Shepherd. Smaller venue but incredible food. It used to be called Mardi Gras Grille before it became a Woodrow's. The Little Woodrow's in midtown is good too, just more open, outside seating.
