but was there a line in the trailer "or people that say happy holidays, whatever that means

Lots of people bitch about saying "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". This makes no sense to me for two reasons:

1) Who cares? My day has never been ruined by someone smiling at me and saying "happy holidays".

2) There are really only 2 "holy days" in December, both of which honor the Hebrew God.

His Fireproof movie made $30+ million on a $500,000 budget. Bible thumpers eat these movies up.

That's so awesome.

My wife and daughters saw this movie yesterday and loved it. I know it is with Kirk Cameron so obviously has an agenda of sorts but we are a Christian family so they knew what they were in for. My wife said it is different but a very good movie. (she likes all Christmas movies so take that for what it's worth)

Have a great day and Merry Christmas!!

How are they gonna explain away the fact that most Christmas traditions were co-opted from pagan celebrations?

Even us Christians have what we think of as Christmas incorrect. The Jews actually don't think birthdays are that important in the first place.

I've never heard of a single one of those bands.

They must be one of the many, many bands that sing Christian Rock and don't believe an ounce of it, like most of the bands who are filthy rich from it.

Christian movies suck...you would think with all the money and faith...they could compete with Hollywood.

Best Christian movie I've seen is Facing the Giants...and it still felt amateurish.

I bought Fireproof from a Blockbuster that was going out business purely so I could make fun of it. The movie was sadly competent. This, however, looks like cockroach jizz

yea you're talking about bands on secular labels who are made of of mostly christians and may have christian themed lyrics

that's not really a "christian band" like DC talk or something

Actually most Christian scholars think we have the date totally wrong. Dionysius made Christ's birthday as December 25th.

In the 17th century it became quite apparent that the calculations by Dionysius Exiguus were incorrect. It’s not only the issue of data of Christ’s birthday that the Pope has raised in his book. He also dispels the myth of the nativity set. According to “Jesus in Nazareth: The Infancy Narratives”, there were no ox, no little donkey or other animals at Jesus’ birth. Pope Benedict wrote that the inclusion of domestic animals in the nativity scene may have been inspired by pre-Christian traditions, probably written by an early prophet in the 7th century B.C.

They think it's in February - if you are even going to celebrate Christ instead of Santa at the end of December...reconfigure your calendar.
