I waited too long in one of my leagues - ended up with Jared Cook. I wasn't really excited about him when I drafted him, even less so after Bradford went down.

There are SOME crappy TEs on the waiver wire. Any recommendations (PPR scoring)? I would take Allen AND Fleener until that sorts itself out - but I only have room for one.

Kelce
Allen
Fleener
Daniels
Ebron
Griffin
Sefarian-Jenkins
Rodgers

Rodgers is worth a look in that offense. He's been getting plenty of targets in preseason.

Kelce is the highest graded TE in the preseason according to PFF. Fansano will be the "starter" only in name. Alex Smith loved the TE in SF and Andy Reid offenses produced some decent TEs over the years.

Fleener has Allen, Daniels has Pitta

Ebron, ASJ, Rodgers are all rookies; though they will play a role in their IRL offenses, rookie TEs are very rarely fantasy relevant.

2013- Tim Wright TE13
2012- Dwayne Allen TE25
2011- Kyle Rudolph TE34
2010- Rob Gronkowski- TE11

These are the top PPR scorers at TE since 2010. Rookie TEs are hyped up every year and much like the rookie WR, rarely produce consistent numbers that would make them every week starters in fantasy.

Ryan Griffin is intriguing but is buried on the depth chart right now. He made a few big plays last season, but I think he is a more wait and see guy for now.

Kelce is worth the roster spot to start the season.

If he gets the snaps and targets in week 1, he'll be TE 1 material week 2 in a shootout with Denver.

Better to be ahead of the game in this case. If he blows up week 1, you'll either have to be a top the waiver priority of shell out a ton of FAAB.

So the consensus seems to be Kelce over Allen?

IT HAS BEEN WRITTEN.

I think a lot of yall picking Kelce and expecting him to come in and be your every week starter from the get-go are going to be sorely disappointed. No doubt he's talented a frick and has the measurables, the opportunity just isn't there yet.

If that's what you gathered from people picking him over the rest of the turds in the OP or from saying he's worth a roster spot, you're an imbecile.

From what I'm understanding in the OP he's looking for a replacement. If that's the case, and I need an immediate starter I'd rather have Ebron and Allen over Kelce. Of course Kelce has just as much, if not more long-term value, but as an immediate plug and play, no.

Exhibit 1A prompting my first post:
