At 14 my Mother gave me a book called "Everything You need to Know about Sex but were Afraid to ask".

About a month later it disappeared.I think she realized just how much I was enjoying the Book.

My Father did. He left his porn stash accessible to avoid the awkward talk.

My mom brought home a book from the library about puberty and sex written for kids and handed it to me to read.

Nope. Neither did our schools. Small minded ignorant people in the bible belt think that discussing sex will make you evil or something.

Yes, but by that point, I thought I already knew everything.

My father invited me to go for a drive. I could tell something was up, We drove along in silence for quite a while, then he finally mumbled something about, "daddys will want you to treat their daughters with respect," or something along those lines. That was the extent of it. I learned the rest from Hugh Hefner

Yes. My father did. It was awkward then, looking back I'm proud to have a father that gave a Damn. As awkward as it was, one thing he said was this:

"You are going to hear some crazy shite about women and sex in the coming years, if you are confused or question it..ask me if you want to know the truth instead of believing some guys story".

This was before internet. Glad he was there for us.

When I was 13 my dad came in my room with the most uncomfortable look I've ever seen on his face. He said, "we need to have the sex talk, do you have any questions?" I said no and he said good talk let me know if you have one.

Dad told me about pussy at 11 years old when we were on vacation while he and I were eating raw oysters. 25 years later, I still don't eat raw oysters.

We were givqen a book called "Where Did I Come From?" that gave you the facts of life with cute little pictures, then one on puberty called "What's Happening to Me?" That one had some realistic sketches of girls in various stages of puberty. I had many a romantic night with that one when I was 12. That and "keep it in your pants" were the extent of our education.I'm VERY open about sex with my kids, and I think it mortifies my parents and neighbors. My kids will not be naive. Naivety played a big role in some of the mistakes I made - that and a Catholic school upbringing.

My parents left it to the girls in my neighborhood to do the educating: Vanessa, Heather and Joyce … later supplemented by my girl cousins, Kathy, Patty, Suzy, Jan and Fran. I was sexually molested by these girls beginning at a very innocent age. However, I am a survivor, and here I am today, spiritually and psychologically undamaged by my experiences.

I was told I wsan't ready to have sex, so I immediately had to try it out.

it wasn't so bad considering squiggly spice channel and three or four playboys were all I had to go off of.
