I'm trying to buy wireless headphones as a gift for someone with a new Samsung TV(H8000 Series 8 Smart 3D Curved Full HD LED TV).

Do new TV's come equipped with bluetooth capability? If not, how do wireless headphones work for tv's? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about BT. But I use wireless for my TV.

LINK

Ha just saw the ones I have are discontinued, but there are plenty like that to chose from.

I have never heard of a tv with bluetooth integration but you can get a transmitter or a set of headphones that come with a transmitter.

if you run your tv audio through a receiver that has blue tooth you can use BT headphones. I do it all the time.

when I stream on my Roku 3, I can plug wired headphones into the remote and it mutes the tv and all audio goes through the remote.

Kinda cool

I wish they made wireless in-ear headphones for TV's. I have a set of Plantronic Backbeats and love them. I guess my TV would have to have a Bluetooth radio for it to work.

I just hate that bulkiness on my ears in bed with normal wireless headphones

I hear ya. SWIDT? Hopefully, in the next 10 or so years we'll have a headphone break through and just have small, permanent implants that go into our ear canal.

any chance you have a PS4? I have the same headset and cant get it to sync for the life of me. I googled and found a spreadsheet of supported headsets and its on the list, but it won't recognize them.

Btw also love the ear buds

Dude, there are tons of "wireless" headsets out there. I personally have never seen a tv with Bluetooth. If they are "smart" they can load everything thru the wifi network, no need for Bluetooth.

Google it!

No I don't. I need to get rid of my ps3 and xbox 360 before I can get a ps4

ETA: I got those backbeats from Radio Shack for 39.99 on black Friday 2 years ago.

There's other ways too. If your TV provider happens to be Dish, the Hopper has Bluetooth built in that works beautifully.

I got the backbeats go 2 @ bestbuy about 3 weeks ago for like 25 off the listed price by getting them to price match amazon. They seem to go on sale on amazon pretty frequently if you end up having to upgrade yours. Came with a travel case that holds its own charge so you can get more travel time from them by plugging in. Love them but only complaint is about 5 hours of play time, 6 or so with the case. Not sure how long yours hold up.

They were listed @ 99 got for 70 or 75 I think

Thanks for the info.

I have been seeing a lot of people with those LG Tones. Wonder if that are any good?

I don't listen to mine for more than 2 hours or so. I mostly use them when grass cutting or working in the yard. After I'm done in the yard, I usually automatically recharge it. You have peaked my curioustiy about battery life now. Will report back

Just a heads up, gamestop is running a special through 9/16 where you get $150 trade in for used PS3's and xbox's when you put it towards a PS4
