WSJ

quote:

Investor Warren Buffett is helping finance Burger King Worldwide Inc. planned takeover of Canadian coffee-and-doughnut chain Tim Hortons Inc., according to people familiar with the matter, in a surprise twist that could add to investors' enthusiasm for the deal.

The Berkshire Hathaway Inc. chairman and chief executive would invest in the deal in the form of preferred shares, some of the people said. Berkshire is expected to provide about 25% of the deal's financing, one of the people said. The exact structure of Mr. Buffett's participation in the deal remains unclear, and the discussions are ongoing.

Wonder if Obama calls his boy unpatriotic.

Howard Buffet was never disowned, that's nonsense. He died as a legend in Nebraska.

Burger King should look to their menu and employees if they want to improve. Maybe significant new investors like Buffet will push them to improve both.

I totally agree, they need new management if they want to succeed in the market. The majority of burger kings that I've went to have been nasty. I once stopped in Valdosta Ga. and got burger king right off 75 it was terrible. I couldn't eat it. I pretty much have refused to eat BK anywhere now. I don't enjoy eating fast food but if I do at least McDonalds is hot and decent. Breakfast is good too.

Buffet became a "liberal" for the EXACT same reason as Soros. Big government affords control, manipulation, and significant economic advantage to those who can afford Big government.

For Buffet, like Soros, it's all about the money.
Period.

EVERYthing else is window dressing.

glad to see it...

wish more companies would do this exact thing.

then it might open some eyes to the greedy, egregious criminals that have built our tax code....ie, our Federal Govt.

I wonder if Buffet's given his secretary a raise yet?

Oh, and why does he hate America?

EXACTLY, he's got his, so by being a lib he's supporting the govt's efforts to prevent more warren buffets.

You also have to factor in that he is an attention whore no better than your typical Kardashian. Pop culture is liberal, so if you are rich all you have to do is mouth pro-abort platitudes along with selling out poor white people to the race baiters, with a sprinkling on mindless green crap, and the media will treat you like a "great man".

I never knew his daddy was rich, shocking that the media leaves that out of the narrative. So he was born on 3rd base, used every tax break regarding insurance premiums in investing that he could, raped people facing death taxes to make acquisitions cheap, but since he mouths liberal platitudes he gets a pass from them?

perfect

but the Koch brothers are "evil"

It is the franchisees who are responsible for the lousy customer service, but Burger King definitely needs to take a good look at its menu.

All democrats should follow the impassioned plea by Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown to boycott Burger King. I might give them another try if that tactic takes hold.

Exactly. When you get to the top, you can pay politicians to regulate your competition.
