The originals had frame cracking issues, since resolved.

First thing that came to mine.
But if free, I would take it.

The ruby red decoration on the butt is a nice touch for someone light in the loafers. It's not a Glock and probably won't shoot half the time. I will pass.

I have never heard of the company that made that gun.
Who would name a company after a horse?

The very first production run had the frame issues. It was resolved quickly. It's believed less than 500 guns made it to the public from that initial run.
KR damn near had a heart attack when I informed him of the issue AFTER he had bought his Black model which is an early run, 1988 production model if I remember correctly.
My Stainless is a 1989.
When I said "original" I meant the original production that was run from produced from 1988 to 1996. Colt reintroduced it in it's current design in 2009.

Is it worth the money? If I want to buy a straight up real deal delta elite 10mm, what kinda cash are we talking about?

Well you explain a little more please. Is this an original, a cheap reproduction of a $2000 gun?
I have been thinking about a 1911 10mm and I thought Dan Wesson, Colt delta elite, and Kimber are all $2000 pistol?

I think those "new models" are going for about $1200.

It's an Original Colt. Just not an original production of the Delta Elite model. See my post a few above.

Explained above.
It's a Colt, nice pistol.

Very nice. What kind of range was that?
So, you think a grand is good?
I know you're the go to for 1911's.
