speculation on shooter:
1. Disgruntled vet not able to receive treatment from a VA hospital
2. Disgruntled Christian veteran.
3. Muslim workplace violence.

The incident took place about 9 a.m. at a four-story building on the base that serves as the headquarters for the Army's Combined Arms Support Command, which lists its mission as to "design, develop, and integrate sustainment capabilities into warfighting requirements, foster innovation, and lead change for the future force."
The base was placed on temporary lockdown and personnel were told to enact "active shooter" protocols after the soldier was spotted with a gun in the building. (see posting below from Fort Lee's verified Twitter account.)
Officials gave an all clear about 9:50 a.m., saying the "soldier turned the weapon on herself and fired one shot, injuring herself."
Her condition was not immediately known, but the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center confirmed it was treating a patient from the base.

The soldier, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead after being taken to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, according to a news release issued by Fort Lee, where the Monday morning shooting took place. No other injuries were reported.
