I checked the official box scores of the first three preseason games, and the defense has had 8 TO's, but you can make that 9 if you include Keenan's robbed INT, which I do.

By comparison, the 2013 Saints defense only had 2 TO's in the first 3 games of preseason.

I thought the D played well. But I also thought Indy had plenty of opportunities to move the ball but failed to capitalize whether it was a missed throw by luck or dumb penalty, etc.

Don't forget the robbed fumble recovery last game. The receiver had possession and looked like he made a move.

And yeah Byrd is explosive to the ball. They say he isn't fast (he sure ain't slow; 40 times aren't run in pads), but he has great acceleration. He is also a much better tackler than most probably think because most view him as just a ball hawk.

You have to give the Saints credit for that. They rattled the colts offense and ruined any rhythm they had. That's why it was so hard for them to make plays. If the defense can force turnovers like they have the preseason the Saints probably go from Super Bowl contenders to Super Bowl Favorites.

But we also committed penalties to keep their scoring drives going, and the possible blown INT call.

That offense didn't look that good. The backups gave up too many rushing yards to that one back, but aside from that(and penalties) they were solid.

Penalties do not bother me bc it is a league wide thing right now not just specific to Saints. No way this many flags are thrown in reg season.
