You can buy buildings in Detroit for even less than that.

Seems like a great investment opportunity. You should dump your life savings AND borrow as much money as you can to dump into it IMO.

If true, I bet the general public will never even actually have a shot to buy them. Someone with connections will snatch them up then get tax credits to build low income houses.

It is true. And nobody has bought these lots. Wide open. I have a feeling 100/lot is a bit low tho

Maybe 100/.25 acre

Dude, you should get a bozo button or chocolate chip cookie for this one. You use it so damn much I hope someone give you a reward one day for it.

I'll start a grass cutting business for the OT......You buy the lots for Saints tailgating (Near the dome... ) send me the grass cutting fee weekly and you can visit your wonderfully appointed lot in the new and desirable Lower 9th Ward that is so much better than the lowly 8th Ward!

Price wasn't right.

If NOLA wants something done with them they will see that they go to the right person and will assist that person in securing federal tax credits to build low income houses because what else would someone build in the 9th?

I know a guy in Kenner that has done a few of those type of projects all over the state actually. This would be up his alley and he has the connections.

Because it doesn't happen every day in LA politics?

You would be amazed at the free money developers get to develop housing as long as it's for low income families.

There was a project here in Lake Charles that the guy in Kenner I mentioned was granted $28 Million in tax credits to build 280 house then got another $2 million from the state for site development.

The project eventually was shrunk due to some outside factors but it exist and is full. He also gets a yearly allowance for ongoing maintenance yet gets to keep the proceeds from the rent.

There is another one built by Pine Shadows golf course here in LC built the same way and that developer is now facing federal charges for things unrelated but he still owns the development with very little out of pocket making tons of money every month.

Both were built because each guy had strong political connections.
