Any surprises on this list? Kind of amazed that Jones and Butler are still in the top 10.

10. Nirvana's Krist Novoselic – $40 million
9. No Doubt's Tony Kanal – $45 million
8. Black Sabbath's Geezer Butler – $65 million
7. Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones – $80 million
6. Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea – $115 million
5. U2's Adam Clayton – $150 million
4. Pink Floyd's Roger Waters – $270 million
2. KISS' Gene Simmons – $300 million
2. The Police's Sting – $300 million
1. The Beatles' Paul McCartney – $1.2 billion

JPJ still does a good bit of work. Plus that LZ money can't be too bad.

Geezer went to school to be an accountant. So, he's probably made wise decisions with his money and not pissed it away on stupid crap. He's also got money from two of the top heavy metal bands of all time, can't hurt.

Jones was just prolific as all get out and worked very hard, even after Led Zeppelin was over.

Surprised to see Tony Kanal on the list, and ahead of Novoselic too.

I'm talking about Les and Oteil Heady!!! Paul is extremely talented as a songwriter and musician. But he's not a great bassist.

Yes he is (or I guess 'was' is a better term)

I Want You (She's So Heavy)
Something
Taxman
Day Tripper
Rain
Paperback Writer
Come Together

All great basslines. He is one of the best at melody. Of course he isn't a flashy lead like Claypool but he is one of the best at laying down a foundation.

Yeah. I actually would've expected to see Novoselic around #2. And Flea? That's just crazy! Maybe he made his fortune shooting Point Break.

As is Sting.

Surprised Geddy Lee isn't on that list. For me, he's the best I've seen.
