Atchafalaya and Elizabeth's are out.

We have a friend coming in town and the plan was Elizabeth's for a group of 5-6. Well, now her mom is coming in town on Sunday to meet her and she "doesn't like Elizabeth's."

Atchafalaya is booked.

These are chicks, so they primarily care about a)atmosphere b) drinks c) other things d) food.

Price has to be somewhat reasonable, we aren't considering Commander's or the like.

Options?

Dante's is awesome for brunch. Its a cool funky atmosphere. Not white linen table cloth dining if that's what they want. But the food is awesome, not expensive, and they have good drinks.

No reservations though so show up at like 10:30 or expect to wait.

Eh. Dante's is a good option, but a place like that I'd probably want ressies.

I've actually never been to Muriels but I am going there this week for dinner.

We are going to coquette for lunch on Saturday. Would have been a great option though. Good call.

That was my first thought. Definitely an option, at least the one in the Marigny. I'm not waiting for 3 hours at the MidCity one.

ain't that the damn truth

look into Apolline. my girl and her friend had brunch there a few weekends ago and said it was solid. albeit the food was under-seasoned but that's come to be expected there.

could also do Coulis or La Petite although the latter may be more fancy than you're looking for. I personally love Tartine but there is zero atmosphere.

*phew*

This Sunday?

I am definitely not canceling my reservation now

ETA: Other than Atchafalaya, Patois is hands down the next best brunch I've had in the city.

Coquette following that.

Been to Apolline's brunch a few times. Its a good spot but it can be pretty dead. Not much atmosphere.

Bottomless mimosas though.

I'm a chick and I care about the food first.

If these are atmosphere people, they'll enjoy Muriel's. Its a jazz brunch, fun location, nice building, has the ghost story business going on, has the 3 course price fixed menu. Nothing out of the ordinary in particular in the food, but good. One of my favorite ramos gin fizz drinks that I've had. Attire can be up or down.

Yeah I don't know how much time that place has left. I run by often and never see it very happening. The 3 times I've been the food has just been super mediocre.

They do love that. Maybe look into Cafe Amelia. Will be a good atmosphere but may be super hot to sit on their patio this time of year. Sylvain is always clutch. They do brunch?
