.5 PPR league; 4pt passing TD

The way our league is setup you can keep one player drafted after the 4th round from the year before. They are inserted as your last round pick regardless of where they were drafted the year before.

I have the 5th overall pick and its possible that I could get one of the top 4 running backs.

With the recent legal troubles and possible suspension would he still be worth keeping above some of these other guys?

Matthew Stafford
Torrey Smith
Mike Wallace

Well it's not like he's getting kicked out the league. As a last round keeper option, what exactly do you have to lose? Stafford makes a nice option as well if you choose to go in a different direction. You wouldn't have to worry about a quarterback the rest of the draft and focus all your high picks on skill position players.

I agree with Papz. I would probably go with Stafford, but that's because I am not sold on Bell.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says Le'Veon Bell and LeGarrette Blount "probably face no more than a one-game suspension and that won't come anytime soon."

There's plenty of precedent here that will allow Bell and Blount to suit up for the entire season. In cases like this pending marijuana possession charge, the NFL waits for the legal process to play out before handing down discipline under the personal conduct policy. Lawyers won't have a problem delaying any proceedings. Note that Dwayne Bowe was caught with marijuana in a car last November, and didn't get hit with his one-game ban until last week.

I have bell as my 16th round keeper but then again I don't have any other options like you do

I'd go Stafford and pick up a different RB. Bell will catch all the passes and will get SOME of the goal line carries but if the Steelers keep Blount he will get a lot of carries and the majority of the goal line TDs.

very similar situation to Matt Forte and Michael Bush a few years ago

So yall don't think he's worth the risk? I just feel like Stafford will still be drafted a good bit after Bell. Also, there are guys like Tom Brady who seem to be falling later in the draft as well.

I'd keep Bell and draft like you don't have him. Can never have too much depth at running back.

You can grab luck, brady, ryan, rg3, newton, kaepernick, or romo way later than where stafford is going at. especially in a 4 point td pass league.

I'm not totally sure I buy into Blount getting all the GL carries, he's not really a power back. I mean he's big but doesn't really fun like one

Bell isnt dead, and he isnt getting kicked out of the league

He'll probably get 2-3 games, and theres a possibility it wont be until next season

Keep him.... RB is too shallow of a position to throw him back IMO

Glad you're not coaching the Steelers or they'd be abandoning the running game altogether.

Keep Bell. His numbers will suffer less in 2014 as a result of this than his injury caused in 2013. You don't have to admire the guy to allow him to benefit your fantasy team.

I'm in a similar spot and would appreciate the advice as well. Same scoring, 12 team league. With our keeper rules, I can keep Le'Veon for my 6th rounder or Drew Brees for my 3rd (I've got the 6th pick in odd number rounds, 7th in even).

Bell obviously has the higher value there assuming both players are healthy/playing all year. But with this news, should I switch to the safer option in Brees?

I meant that you're overreacting and saying that would be an analogous overreaction by the Steelers coaches. Get it?

me saying Bell hasnt died, isnt getting kicked out of the league and probably wont see a 2 game suspension until 2015 is overreacting?

Yikes. No, not you. I meant the OP. Sorry.

I was agreeing that Bell is not dead.

I would still draft Bell over any of these guys, so I would also keep him over any of these guys.
