Anyone have any tips or information to share? Headed down next weekend. Gonna try down East in Big Lagoon in the AM and around lights at pm. Caught some trout in Bayou St. John last year. Just looking for something to pull!

Ride on down to Fort Morgan and fish behind the fort.

Thx for the reply. I am hoping to find some fish near where we are staying( sundown condo near The Crab Trap) since the boat will be in the water there, but if not, may give Ft. Morgan a shot. Thx again!

Folks used to live at The Caribe. I did well here.
The lights on those piers at night were my go to spot and i always caught trout and sometimes flounder under them. It's usually fish on every cast at night.

Didnt realize you were bringing a boat.
Definately hit the lights at Ono, the bridge pilings in the pass usually hold some big blues (we caught on pogies), and just out of the pass on gulf side seems to be where the mackerel are.

We are doing a few days at Lake Ouachita towards the end of September. If Im lucky, Ill land a big striper.

Old buddy from OB is letting me use his skiff while he is down in Brazil fishing. Thanks again
Hey Pop. I have never fished for flounder, only gigged them. Give the tip for that if you don't mind.

I wish I knew. I have only caught 1 flounder and that was off of the beach near Ft Morgan using squid (not targeting, just catching whatever took the bait).
Watch the pass area around 9pm, last year there were 2 or 3 boats rigged out with lights that were running parallel with the beach, bowfishing or gigging I assume.
ETA: Stop by Mo' Fishin Bait and Tackle and/or Top Gun Tackle (both owned by Mo). Buy some bait and he can help lead you to the fish.

Polar Pop is right, hit all the lighted piers. Just note that AL and FL have different slots.

You just reminded me to get a fishing license for Alabama. My parents have a place at Seachase and I'm gonna be making some yak trips down there in the fall and the winter. Good luck with the flounder and be sure to report back

Don't get your AL fishing license till after Aug 31st

Thx Jake, but not targeting flounder. Trout would be preferred, but I will be happy with any bite! Good luck Yak fishing!!

Can fish the bridge pilings at night on Lillian Bridge (HWY190) where it crosses Perdido Bay on the north end. We fish there and the grass beds by Ono. Also there is some sunken barges in the intrrcoastal. They have them marked. I have a place on the north side of Perdido. You can also go upa nd fish around the mouth of the river. My place is due south of the mouth.
