Has anyone seen this? Driving from the Northshore to the Southshore and there are these new signs telling you that you are traveling south and what distance you're at. These things are freaking huge and they're every 0.1 miles! I'd love to know who the hell paid for this............actually I probably don't want to know

Hardworking taxpayers who have time to "protest" every night and still put on their work boots at 5 am.

I've seen several bridges in the area with these signs. I agree it's stupid. I know the whole way from Kenner to Hammond has them

It's so you can give people your exact location on bridges in case of emergency.

You do realize the causeway commission is a private entity right?

You do realize the causeway is a toll bridge right?

Always wondered why they didn't make an annual marathon out of it. I mean it's the perfect distance

The Causeway is a private entity. I've always heard that once the Causeway makes enough revenue to pay for itself and all of its project, it gets turned over to the state...which is the reason why they keep starting new projects to avoid that. Just what I've been told, no clue on the accuracy of that

Sorry, I'm drinking.
I'm pretty sure it was originally a course for a marathon for many years.

The Causeway Commission is ridiculous.

Abolish the Causeway police, the tolls, and the no-bid contracts.
