Why does Obama always say "ISIL" instead of "ISIS"?

I'm just curious, because Obama has referred to them as ISIL everytime I've ever heard him, but practically everybody else calls them ISIS.
Is there a reason why Obama refers to them as ISIL?

Yeah we've just been calling them IS. After they get entry to the UN, I'm sure they'll figure it out.
