Either by draft or trade or free agency.

I'm in Virginia and haven't been able to watch.

Cooks is even better than hoped for.
Vinnie is doing well and very well on ST.
Cooks is PS bound.
Fortt and Powell are vying to stay off the PS.
SJB is learning but will make the 53.

Thanks.

Does Cooks look to be Sproles-level good?

Nobody could ever be "much better" than Darren Sproles, but I'll accept your evaluation as very positive news, indeed.

Fortt has missed a bunch of practice time and the PS may be his only hope.

I'm not sure SJB has earned a spot on the 53, but we may be out of options.

The biggest surprise for me has been Sunseri. He looks very comfortable in the backfield and hits like KV.

Jones and Coleman consistently disappoint.

Dixon is downright awful.

Warren has held his own as a UDFA.

Strozier has shown toughness and most probably has earned spot on the PS.

Cooks is as good as we had hoped.

Did I mention that Dixon is downright awful?

There is zero chance they give up on a 2nd pick in his rookie year.

I don't think Fortt ends up on the PS. He was looking pretty decent, and was getting reps with the 2s, and even a few with the 1s. It's either the 53 or IR. He'd almost certainly get signed by another team if we tried to place him on the PS.

No way SJB gets cut. We knew we were getting a project when we drafted him.

I agree. I changed my position.

I never thought he was going to be cut...I think there's still a PS.

What makes you think this? There are going to be 319 other players on the PS across the league.

Just a hunch. Not saying it would be a week 1 signing, but I doubt he makes it all 16 weeks on the Practice Squad. While he didn't show much in preseason games due to getting injured in the 2nd game, he looked decent when he did play, and was a 4th round pick. Someone will be willing to take a shot on him. Like I said, it's either 53 or IR for him.

Even Al Woods didn't make it a full season on the Steeler's PS his rookie year after we had already cut him. Injuries happen and teams start looking around. Ryan Griffen was an undrafted guy who showed very little last year and was getting offers. Increasing the number of players on teams' PS doesn't make him safer on ours.

I'll try now...it may sound like these other guy's answers too.

Cook - Having a great camp and preseason. Runs nice routes and has lined up at every WR position on the field during preseason. Will play alot year 1.

SJB - Up and down during camp and preseason. Tons of potential. Has shown flashes of it. I think he'll play in sub packages.

Fortt - Has missed some time, most recently, due to injury. However, showed lots of versatility in camp playing inside and outside LB. If his injury isn't bad, he'll make the 53, imo.

Sunseri - Spent some time with 1s in camp. Had a great week 2 of preseason. Will definitely make the 53 just for special teams and will probably be in some sub packages in real games.

Powell - Has showed talent in camp/preseason. Is playing OLB and has a great shot to make the 53 with Butler injured.

Rooks - I haven't seen much of him (don't think anyone has). Was with 3s all camp. Practice Squad candidate.

Quick highlights of rookie UDFA.

Coleman - has all the measurables. Ideal WR prospect. Makes good plays, drops easy ones. If his camp gets better, could be PS. If not, I don't think he makes the team at all.

Dixon - like someone else said...bad.

Kilgore - nothing special. PS.

Jones - Another WR with measureables. Probably having a slightly better camp than Coleman. Will make the PS over him, IMO.

Warren - A safety that will probably make the 53 if reports are true. Could force the Saints to keep 5 safeties.

Uko - made some plays in week 1. Strong PS candidate.

Most of the others just don't matter much. But I do think the keep one of the RBs on the PS. Probably Strozier, Tulane guy. There just isn't a Thomas, Ivory or Robinson this year.

IR for him.

He seems to be a good candidate for the IR. He has been dealing with some injuries and wouldn't come under a microscope if he's stashed.

Agree with your assessments, but I think Warren could make the Saints keep 6 safeties (which I think is what you meant anyway).

Ahh yes, I forgot about Marcus Ball.

BTW Rex, Marcus Ball is a Safety they signed from the CFL. Has played well when given the chance. Will probably also make the 53, so yes, they could keep 6. Wow...6 sounds way more than 5.....6 would be a surprise.
