have a new home and a nice patio with a direct natural gas line on the patio.

I have some leftover brick and I was curious if it were possible to lay the brick on the side of my patio and close in one side with a grill in the middle attached to the natural gas? of course that part would need to be semi open because you would have to turn it on and off.

basically on one of the sides it has two 6 foot gaps between a middle column of brick and I want to enclose one of the sides about 3/4 foot high with brick with a gas grill in the middle.

is this even possible? would it cost a fortune?

I would just brick in the left side about 3/4 feet tall. the hookup for natural gas is on the bottom left

Looks like you have a bit of a confined space there. Be very careful with a natural gas line in a confined space. If you are going to do it make sure you keep a CO detector close by.

I'd brick in that whole damn space. Sell the grill and get one made to be set in brick. You can extend the gas stub and run a proper valve on it anywhere you want it. Can make one hell of a nice little outdoor kitchen spot there if you run some cabinets and counter space along the left.

Yes it is possible, what I would look at if you want to do it right is a countertop stainless grill. Basically the grill you have minus the base just intended for the installation you have in mind. Then just build your base and then brick in completely. The controls are on the countertop grill. would be the best looking and simple solution for you that I can think of.

Think somthing like this is what would work best.

Assuming you grill in that spot right now...do you have any problems venting the smoke out of there? It looks fairly protected so how does the smoke get out of the area when you grill something that generates a lot of smoke?

Could probably setup a fan to make the smoke his neighbor's problem...
