Hit enter early. ooops. Founds some pics on my phn and thought I'd share since my game cameras haven't been getting a nothing worth a shite. We use to have a stickied thread for this but guess its gone

From my trip to Kansas

This is the old homestead where the ranch house was. It burned about 15 years ago and just the corral and outbuildings are left

The river in the distance is the Salt River where it meets the Cimarron River. I think. That valley is Collier flats. Named after a camp cook in a cowboy camp that was killed when the last Indian raids took place. A band of Indians left a reservation in Oklahoma and headed north to their hunting grounds killing everyone they came across. They were eventually killed/captured in Nebraska. The cook named Collier was taken from the camp and later found hanging 4 miles to the north.

This is about an acrea low spot surrounded by trees in the middle of 400 acres of wheat. the deer trails here were like cattle trails and this spot was loaded with quail. I plan to bow hunt it next year.

Almost stepped on him

Set of horns found last year on the ranch

Would mount almost every one of these

My mother in law owns a ranch up there. We went to renew the grazing and hunting leases and just hang out for a week

You should dig a pond. From what I can see that's the only thing missing.

I told her we could load all our shite in an 18 wheeler trailer, haul it up there then bury the trailer and have a storm shelter.

Actually, the idea started with a school bus that I wanted to buy for a hunting camp. The idea grew from there

They were in the worst 3 year drought since 1894 when we went. Our wheat didnt get taller than knee high this year and the guy that has the grazing lease said his heard there was at about 40% of what it should be.

We were able to work out a hunting lease with one of the land specialist from Whitetail Properties. Cant wait to get some trail cam pics from him.

If your lease and or lease arrangement ever falls through, I'd be interested in leasing it for you.

Man I'm super jealous of all the pics on here today. You have these, the tensas trail cam pics, and the ohio bucks all posted today. Everyone of these deer would be on my wall. I'm getting some decent pictures and a bunch of daytime pictures from my land, but none in those deer's league. If you ever need a hunting buddy or want to trade a couple hunts I'm down I'd even pay. Our land is 4 miles from the Natchez trace near Vicksburg. Good luck hunting this year.

Can you sell day hunts for quail after deer season is over? How are the leases set up? I might be interested in making a trip up...
