The situation is 10 hungry men at a house with a draft that should last at least 3-4 hours, and our budget is only about $70-$80.

What would y'all suggest?

Which dishes/food? Think it best to cook or carry out?

With that budget I'd go with gumbo, chili, or jambalaya. You'll probably have enough left to get some chips and salsa for snacking.

seems like you could cook enough jambalaya for 10 people for $80 ?

Boudin stuffed burgers on the grill with caramelized onions and Jack Miller's BBQ sauce. Tater tots on the side. Put the other $50 towards meat/veggie/cheese tray and beer.

I normally stuff the burgers with sauteed onion, bells, jalapenos and mix that in with the boudin and shredded pepperjack cheese.

Mexican pulled pork nachos. When I get off work in the morning at 5am Im gonna get the boston butt going in the crock pot. The draft's tomorrow evening. I'll put a large can of nacho cheese in another crock pot at 3pm, and serve with chips, tomatoes, black olives, and jalapenos. With Tony's boudin links as an app.

Sammiches are the most practical option. Gotta have one hand free to navigate the computer/cheat sheets. Also, not messy.

Couple of boston butts cooked overnight and warmed in a crockpot. Buns. Sauce. Chips.

That should leave some leftover in the budget to buy some bourbon for yourself as host!

Oh, it's been way longer than 2 years. I've been able to build up the lingo over that time too. Cheers!

This is a fantasy football draft, not a rehearsal dinner. Anyway, I'm sure you could figure out how to make pulled pork into an adult sandwich, and if not, there is no hope. We're not talking cold cuts here. Hell, make it into bahn mi if you'd like.
