Question - what was the interval of the six shots?

I keep hearing - "you don't need to shoot someone SIX times."
But I have not seen anything that says what was the duration of the gunfire. If the six shots were made 10 - 15 seconds apart, then yeah, that gives time for some reflection between the shots and one might be faulted for continuing to shoot.
But - if the six shots all came within a 5-second interval, then it doesn't matter if there were three or twenty shots. There is no time to re-evaluate the situation between the 4th, 5th, and 6th shots.
Does anyone know this info? sorry if I missed it.

I would like to know how many total shots were fired.

Probably a few seconds

Usually when cops open fire on a subject it comes in a rapid volley until the suspect is taken to the ground. I suspect that is what took place here though I don't really recall any of the witness testimony specifically speaking to that.

That is my supposition, but is there any possibility of making a real determination?

This is my recollection also. I was hoping that some of the 'eyewitnesses' had unwittingly given out some information about the interval which could be used to at least put a reasonable range on it.
In order to support the 'execution' hype, they would have had to describe a very deliberate process.

The first five shots were not deterrents from a lunatic, based on all accounts I've seen to date. The sixth hit was through the beak, which was the lethal one. It sounds like Brown was on something that didn't allow him to reason that he was being shot and needed to stop of he would die.

Law enforcement officers are trained to meet force with force. When it gets down to firing on someone when you feel your life is in danger you shoot until that threat is stopped plain and simple. You are not taught to shoot to wound.

I just heard Bo Dietl say the interval was "3 seconds" - don't know what his source is.
This fits my pre-conceived idea of what happened - the flurry of shots all came as quickly as the cop could pull the trigger.

In most cases after officer involved shootings officers can't recall how long the engagement lasted nor how many rounds they fired. Unfortunately most officers only go to the range to re-qualify. Most PD budgets nowadays don't allow for more range time. A lot of guys go anyway and spend their own $$$ for ammo.

Thanks - comports with what Bo Dietl said. It was hard to hear what was on the video but it sounded as if he described two sets of four shots - "pop-pop-pop."

I'm just still not convinced it was necessary to go strait to gun over taser. JMO.

When a man that big grabs your gun that cop probably shite himself. I would.
If that's what happened.
Toxicology back on that dude yet? You really are an a-hole to not mellow out stoned. I head weed but who cares? PCP makes sense.

This. It is also consistent with the medical examiner's report in that the last two shots were the fatal rounds. If you look at the diagram:
Shots starting in the hand. I don't think that the aim was going up (most likely point shooting at center mass), but that Brown was falling down. The last round going in the top of the head as Brown collapsed.

A dead guy in the street and it's business as usual for the neighborhood. I definitely cannot relate.
I happened to walk up on a murder in Little Rock one time. It was in a nice neighborhood too. A young white man got shot by a gang of blacks on bicycles. Heard the shots as I rounded a curve and saw them fleeing the scene. The man who was shot staggered to the curb across the street from his house and collapsed. I never got a chance to get a good look at the suspects. Some neighbor who heard the shots called the police. I couldn't give them much information. I was shocked.

Did the whites in the neibrhod protest (riot and loot)?
Was there a federal civil rights investigation?
Did Reverands Al and Jesse show up?

No, No, and No.
There was a small article in the Democrat-Gazette the next day. That's all I ever found. I always thought it may have been a drug deal gone bad but never really heard much about it. I was just thankful that I was ~30 seconds late on the scene.
I imagine Al and Jesse wouldn't have given a damn.

Depends on the spin if the argument.
Police using excessive force thirty seconds.
Gun control argument a semi auto pistol could dump the "clip" in milliseconds.
In actuality just a few seconds.
