My father lost his phone somewhere along the road (he thinks).
Is there anyway I can find it with just his phone #?

So what you're suggesting is that he did not log into "FindMyiPhone" or the like when he had the phone? This site will let you find it if the app was installed/setup. I'm really not sure how you go about it other than calling it and hoping for the best.

Did he enable "Find My iPhone"?
If so, you can track all phones linked to that Apple ID that have it enabled in settings. Just put in his Apple ID and Password on any iDevice in the "Find My iPhone" app.
