He correctly pointed out that the initial narrative surrounding Michael Brown, even when the country and the world knew nothing about this kid, was that he was a "gentle giant" who was simply walking towards his Grandma's house, all the while thinking about enrolling in college in just a matter of days, when suddenly this wonderful young man is gunned down in cold blood by an overzealous, racist white cop. That's exactly how the New York Times was spinning the story, along with just about every other media outlet.

Then, the "infamous" video showing Brown robbing a convenience store comes out, which also highlights the physically aggressive, bullying nature of this "gentle giant".

Obviously, that was a monumental game-changer. That's why Holder/Obama didn't want the video to be released, and obtw, Holder and Obama requested that this video be suppressed early on, not 4-5 days later.

So, why are the protestors, the media, and the White House upset that this video was released to the public? Because it kills their agenda-driven, false narrative that white cops kill INNOCENT black kids all the time.

I know some of you liberals will avoid the obvious truth of this summary by simply attacking the messenger, but Limbaugh absolutely nailed this situation.

Good job, Mr. Limbaugh.

I like Limbaugh.

But if he is JUST saying this...he's lagging big time.

Just announced Michael Brown has marijuana in his system as well. Oh but don't worry he was a good kid looking forward to college and all that, that thing with the cigars and what not is just a "thing".

this entire controversy needs to be less about race and more about police overreach and militarization.

Cops shouldn't be killing ANYONE unless the cop or a 3rd party is about to be seriously hurt themselves and even then ALL non-lethal means should be considered first.

I'm curious why you think that should matter.

Bro, uncalled for. I have yet to see a Left leaning poster that has taken up the banner Mike Brown was executed. There may be, but I have not seen it.

Actually some very level headed reviewing of the facts. Good dialogue. Despite the tragic nature of this, one of the better discussions I have participated in on this board.

ETA: Okay, I will concede that Draconian Sanctions is in that previously mentioned grouping.

Limbaugh is certainly stating the obvious, and he's been off the air for 3-4 days, but at least one person with a microphone is standing up and telling the truth.

I dont think the video was released until last Friday, btw, so this was his first chance to address it.

This reminds me of an episode of COPS. A perp steals a car. Cop had no idea. Perp runs a red light and cop tries to stop him for a warning. But the perp thinks it's for stealing and goes on an escape race. Finally gets pulled down and says "How did you know?"
Cop: "I didn't know anything until you ran. I'd have let you go."
Perp: "I'm so friggin' stupid.'

If that was really such an issue then they wouldn't be letting them loot & riot.

why do they keep doing this? Before I knew anything, I was reasonably sure the one thing I could count on was that the "kid" was a TPOS...it is as if the media thinks your typical white/Hispanic/Asian American doesn't have any contact with black people...they must think we're stupid.

How no one ever got in any shite for pushing pictures of 12 year old trayvon (making the public think he was a 12 year old Hollister wearing kid) and Zimmerman's mug shot (as if he is a hardened criminal) is beyond me...Infinite pictures to choose from and it would be impossible to convince me choosing those two images wasn't a deliberate attempt to sway the emotions of the viewers/public into being unjustifiably nonskeptical of the narrative being pushed forth (White guy (not white) walks up to unarmed black kid and shoots him)

I'm so sick of this race pandering...While I'm still not sure (because I am not fully informed) if the cop was justified in using lethal force, I never had a doubt that he just shot some sweet kid...and please for the love of god, "kid" and "teen" are two different things...teens commit violent crimes all the time. "he was a sweet boy" and they fricking know he wasn't, and if they think he was then they're deranged. It's as if the black community just sticks to something regardless of fact due to racial hostility towards white people...and then these fricking idiots on CNN, MSNBC, HLN just sit there and turn off their brain and pander to them lest they be called racist.

Not really groundbreaking stuff. Both sides have been guilty of perpetrating a narrative.

Swisher Sweets are used for marijuana use. Do you really think Brown loved cheap cigars?

I am curious why you think it wouldn't matter?

The cop said he thought the kid was on something

Well, apparently he was!!!!!

Let's review the facts shall we?

Robbed store
smoking dope
caught
attempted to steal the cops firearm

Ended up dead

Why is this even a national story?

What are people looting and protesting over the sinful actions of a black youth?

Do people no longer believe in consequences?

being under the influence and committing a violent robbery doesn't warrant execution...obviously,

but it does help paint a picture of the "sweet kid" we've been told about...it is material to the case and strengthens (not proves) the officer's contention that lethal force was justified.
