Have Directv at house with 5 receivers, want to add outdoor tv for covered patio. What's the best way do this?
A. HDMI wireless transmitter/receiver?
B. Call Directv and add 6th receiver?
C. Will Roku3 or Apple TV stream a signal to my iPad and then connect iPad via HDMI to tv (did this for Geauxzone baseball via Geauxzone app)
thanks in advance!
Edit: Uverse internet max speed is 6mg---yuck!
Directv doesn't have a deal with WatchESPN

Thanks but my max speed is 6mg thanks to Uverse. Ending up putting in 2 x 6mg services so kids phones and iPads don't crash 1 overloaded system.
Is 6mg fast enough??

I'd just go with 6th receiver then

Roku or Apple do not stream to other devices. They only stream from the internet to an attached TV. They do not stream local channels. Your internet bandwidth is marginal for video streaming and you would probably be frustrated by the frequent buffering that you would experience.
If you want full control of the TV, i.e., the use of a remote and access to the DVR, pretty much your only option is another receiver from DirecTV.

Most receivers will have more than 1 video and audio output that will run simultaneously. I run a set of component video cables to my outside TV from my receiver in my living room.
Some cable receivers may have 2 HDMI outputs, but mine only has 1 and I didn't want to use a splitter.
Long HDMI or component cables are cheap and great quality at [link=(www.monoprice.com)]monoprice.com[/link]
Edit: I wouldn't count on using a streaming device with a 6mbps connection

That's what I did with Directv box. You could add the wireless genie if cabling will be a problem.

Dallas what kind of wifi speed do u have? My max is 6mg and don't think it can handle the wireless genie.

The wireless genie doesn't use your internet. It replicates a signal from your main genie to the clients. You don't even need internet for it to work.
