“The science is screaming at us,” he said. “Ask any kid in school. They understand what a greenhouse is, how it works, why we call it the greenhouse effect. They get it.” He cited “unprecedented storms, unprecedented typhoons, unprecedented hurricanes, unprecedented droughts, unprecedented fires, major damage, billions and billions of dollars of damage being done that we’re paying for instead of investing those billions of dollars in avoiding this in the first place.”

If a Christian would say the same things about droughts, typhoons and hurricanes being a sign of the end times, they would be laughed off. If John Kerry says these things and blames it on climate change, his cause receives billions in funding!

.... yeah, because human-caused climate change is a scientific fact with evidence backing it up. This accelerated climate change has led to the intense weather patterns we're seeing today. You want to show me evidence of supposed "end times"?

Global warming is a result of government spending IMO.

so you're saying there are more hurricanes now than in the past 10, 15, 25, 50 years? I'm asking.

quote:

As the climate has warmed, some types of extreme weather have become more frequent and severe in recent decades, with increases in extreme heat, intense precipitation, and drought. Heat waves are longer and hotter. Heavy rains and flooding are more frequent. In a wide swing between extremes, drought, too, is more intense and more widespread.

All I'm saying is is that with climate change comes changes in weather patterns. Does that not make sense?

There were droughts, hurricanes, typhoons, etc. long before the industrial revolution.

you do know that both hurricane and typhoon numbers and strength are at historic lows, right?

Please tell me this isn't really a quote from John Kerry. Truly embarrassing.

source? Not disagreeing with you, just asking for a source

Besides, hurricanes and typhoons aren't the only type of extreme weather. Droughts, extended heavy rains, and heat waves are still dangerous and they're only increasing in number

idiocy. Millions of people die every day from dysentery in third world nations. Yes, they die from having the ishts because they don't have clean drinking water. And this clown is worried about a 0.7degree temperature change over a century.

Kerry should first set an example by converting all his gas guzzling vehicles to an alternative, more cost efficient energy source. ...or STFU.

I'd be interested to see all the data proving this increase in extreme weather and also the sample size used.
