The pink part is the final phase and gives a straight shot from I10 to OB and connect to the Foley beach express that is already there

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. -- Thinking about attended a big event this weekend near Orange Beach? If you’re coming from the north, beginning Friday you’ll be able to take an alternate route all the way from Interstate 10.
Officials with the Alabama Department of Transportation have confirmed that the interchange to the Baldwin Beach Express is set to open Friday afternoon, completing the nearly eight-year project stretching from Interstate 10 to its connection with the Foley Beach Express.

quote:

“This new interchange will have a dramatic impact on alleviating congestion on Highway 59 and will provide another critical hurricane evacuation route for our residents and guests,” according to a press release issued Wednesday by the organization.

How about they just coordinate the lights?

Is it that difficult?

We all aren't Kenny Stabler, we have to actually stop at the red lights.

The cops are as surprised every summer Saturday as the cops in BR are on fall Saturday nights.

It connects to the previously build Foley beach express which has a toll right before you cross the canal into OB right at the wharf

Would be worth whatever they charge not to deal with 59, though now the bottleneck moves to Canal Road.

We used to be good family friends with the people who originally built it but it has long been sold. Who owns it now? I want to say it is a Louisiana company

You talking about the wharf? That's Art Favre with Performance Contractors here in Br. I actually just got back from having to "work" there this week.
