Wii U purchase; Wii U Gamepad question?

Looking at buying a Wii U. If I buy one without a gamepad, what am I looking at to procure a gamepad? On ebay the lowest is like $120. It seems like my best bet would be just to buy a refurb'd one from Nintendo for $200. Any input would be appreciated.
