The surprise of the freshman class is DJ Chark.

This guy is the surprise of the freshman class for me. Didn't hear much about him during the recruiting process. Most recruiting services I saw listed him at three star, yet has looked great in the drills and has been singled out by miles for outstanding performance of late.
Go back and watch number 82 in the gauntlet drills. Very fast and smooth with soft hands. Notice the sound of the ball when it hits his hands despite being thrown with velocity at a short distance. He surprised me with his physicality in the big cat also. Did he stand out in high school?

When we recruited him he got lost in the shuffle of the stars on our board but that guy can absolutely fly.

He was on a horrible high school team. I guarantee every team that played ASH only focused on him. That's what we did and he still almost took one to the house

Never noticed his name during the limited recruiting news I read. I honestly thought they were misspelling "Clark" the first few times I read about him.

Ah, that makes sense. His high school stats are ok for an LSU recruit. Can't find an offer list for him either.
I assume he impressed at the LSU camp to get an offer, but there was no buzz to speak of.

Chark went to a camp at Oklahoma State and got an offer. Then went to a camp at A&M and received an offer.
Then he came to LSUs camp and got an offer.
Thankfully he decided to commit because he would have blown up if he kept getting offers the way he was.

i think he's going to win out at return specialist and make a huge splash there...may get a few touches on offense, but most likely not much
